To the Providence Family,
On behalf of the Providence High School Board of Regents, I would like to welcome all our new and returning students and their parents, to what should be an exciting and meaningful school year. As a Board, we look forward to being involved not only with our students, but with our parents and our alumni as well.
The Board of Regents works closely with our Head of School, Joe Sciuto, in providing the very best college preparatory education for our students, as well as providing comprehensive extra-curricular opportunities in visual and performing arts, athletics, and a host of club activities. The goal of developing our students into well-rounded, productive citizens is best stated in the Board of Regents vision statement:
As people of Providence High School, we launch a well-rounded diverse community of scholars within a student centered, caring, safe environment which develops ethical and spiritual global citizens in partnership with our community, committed to stewardship and excellence.
We continue to experience exciting times at Providence High School. As enrollment continues to increase, we are able to offer multiple additions to our college prep curriculum and additional support services. With their success as the main goal, students benefit from our Academic Support Center and the NAVIANCE Web-based college-counseling program (which is used by students, parents and counselors}. Additionally, the opening of our new state-of-the art Science Center, will provide our students and teachers the very best opportunities for the quality education they deserve.
The school continues to be recognized for its academic excellence, as evidenced by its recent acceptance as a member of the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), a distinguished organization that serves and strengthens its schools by setting standards of academic quality and ethical conduct; by providing for the professional growth of faculty, administrators, and trustees; and by promoting ethnic and socio-economic diversity.
"YOU BELONG HERE.," our school motto, applies to everyone in our Providence High School family. This message is not only applicable to our current students and our alumni, but to our future students that live in the local communities. On behalf of the Board, I urge all former students to stay involved with our school, and support our mission to provide a quality college prep education and to develop each student to his/her fullest potential, with strong moral values, a sense of service and a love of learning.
Jim Satoris,
Board of Regents Chair
