PARENT COMMITMENT

Providence recognizes the importance of parental participation in your student's life. Communication with faculty and attendance at school functions is essential to your student's academic success. Support of fundraisers and financial obligations will be explained when you receive your financial agreement.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Providence High School has established funds for academic scholarships and financial assistance, and each year is able to offer these programs to deserving students and their families. Funding for these programs is made possible through the generosity of our PHS benefactors.

Academic Scholarships are awarded annually to the top five scoring students who take the high school entrance exam on our campus. Each is a $2,000 award and renewable for the next three years provided the student meets specific academic criteria.

Financial Assistance is considered for students whose parents complete a financial aid application through the finance office. This confidential paperwork is verified and audited through an outside financial service. Amounts given are determined by PHS Administration. Applications for financial assistance deadline is February 12, 2010. Providence is pleased to be able to offer a second student discount to our families who have more than one child attending our campus. Dependents of Providence Health & Services, benefit eligible employees receive a $3000 discount off tuition.

Students requiring financial assistance to attend Providence High School can obtain available
information and application forms by downloading the forms or through the Finance Office at PHS.
Needs and circumstances provide a basis for determining the amount and type of aid offered.
The Application Process
• Each family must reapply for financial aid each year.
• To complete the financial aid process, two applications must be completed; the PHS Financial
Aid Application and the School and Student Services Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). It is
important that all forms are returned in a prompt and accurate manner.
• All parents must furnish a copy of their current tax return with all the schedules and the
  accompanying W‐2’s.
• Non‐custodial parents must submit a separate PFS form along with their tax returns and all
schedules and W‐2’s directly to the school.
• Late applications will only be considered if funds become available in the future.
The Providence Fund
The “Providence Fund” is an annual scholarship contribution program supported by past associates, alumni, current families and friends of the school. This year’s contributions by individuals were over $67,514 allowing future students, with financial considerations, to attend PHS.

In addition to the generosity of our individual donors we would like to acknowledge the following foundations and benefactors whose contributions to our scholarship fund have made it possible to offer financial assistance to our students.
  • Burbank Health Care Foundation
  • Sisters of Providence
  • Bill Hannon Foundation
  • Carrie Estelle Doheney Foundation
  • PIT Endowment Scholarship
  • Fritz B Burns Foundation
  • The Sense Foundation

Individual contributions, from friends and family in honor or memory of loved ones, are always welcome.
