Ways to Give

You can support Providence High School in many creative ways. Whether your gift is large or small, designated for a specific purpose or for annual support, your contribution will make a difference in the lives of students and in the future of the school.

Below are some examples of giving options. These are meant to be illustrative and are not intended as tax advice. Please check with your tax preparer and/or financial planner regarding the deductibility of your charitable giving.

Cash Gifts
The simplest and fastest way to give is to write a check to Providence High School. You may also charge gifts on your MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover. If you itemize your deductions on your federal tax return, you will receive a deduction based on the full value of your gift (up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income). Major cash gifts can also be made in the form of a pledge to be paid over a period of several years. For more information regarding pledges paid over time, please contact the Advancement Office at the number below.

Securities
If you have stocks and bonds that have been held long-term and have increased in value, you can give them to PHS, and, in most cases receive both an income tax deduction based on the full fair market value of the asset (up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross value) and avoidance of Capital Gains Tax. If your assets have decreased in value, sell them and donate the proceeds to Providence High School and take a charitable deduction. You might also want to explore innovative gifts such as real estate, tangible personal property, closely held business interests, and life insurance.

Planned Gifts
There are several ways to create a giving plan that will enable you to make a larger gift to PHS than you thought possible while receiving income and tax benefits in return. Planned gifts can be structured, for example as charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities, or bequests. Gifts can be tailored to meet your financial and estate planning goals, objectives, and concerns. Providence High School can assist you and/or your financial planner in setting up planned gifts.

Matching Gifts
Many corporations demonstrate their support for PHS by matching or multiplying their employees' gifts to the school. The corporate matching portion of the gift will be credited to the same program as the employee donation. Ask your employer if they offer this benefit.

The Providence Fund
In conjunction with Promise for the Future II Capital Campaign, the school is unveiling a new annual fund, The Providence Fund. The fund is an integral part of our commitment to providing a Providence education to all qualified students, especially those requiring financial assistance. Everyone can participate in the success of the Financial Assistance Program by supporting the PHS through a gift of any size to The Providence Fund.

Gifts made through our Pioneer Connections magazine or on-line giving (coming soon) allow PHS to continue to provide excellence in education to our faith-filled leaders of tomorrow. Unrestricted gifts to "PHS' Greatest Needs," have the flexibility to be used where the funds will have the most significant impact and have an immediate positive effect on the academic and extracurricular success of students.
