Board of Regents

As a member of the San Fernando Valley Catholic educational community, the faculty and staff at Providence High School are dedicated to “helping our students to reach their highest academic potential with strong moral values, a commitment to service and a love of learning.”

Providence High School is an acknowledged leader in the field of college preparatory education. In October of 2008, we were recognized as one of the best private schools in Los Angeles County by Los Angeles Magazine. This is not happenstance, since our founding in 1955 by the Sisters of Providence, we have endeavored to be a model of an exceptional educational institution. At the same time our students are instilled with the notion that they have a responsibility to be of service to their communities and be good stewards of God’s gifts to them and our environment.

During the 1980’s, the Administration of Providence High School, lead by former principal, Sr. Lucille Dean S.P., began two focus programs in the areas of Medicine and Media. Today, Providence High School is proud of the two highly successful focus programs. Graduates from the focus programs are equipped to compete at the highest levels for the best schools in their chosen fields.

We are very proud of our current student body and our illustrious alums, but we cannot rest on our laurels. We have to constantly reinvest in our school and its most treasured asset, our students. With Promise For the Future II, we have embarked on an aggressive capital campaign to improve our campus infrastructure. The centerpiece of that effort is the development of an 11,000 square foot science center. According to our Principal Michele Schulte, “having a new science center is essential for Providence High School to move our students into the 21st century.” We are looking to the future with optimism, and are thankful for the Providence of God that has brought us generous donors, many of whom have joined us tonight. Thank you for your faith in our school and your commitment to our mission.

I remain, yours in Providence,
