Dear Providence Family,

 

 

     What a way to celebrate a Golden Jubilee! On behalf of the Board of Regents, I would like to thank Sr. Mary Hawkins, SP for so generously giving of her time in order to return to campus to help us until our Interim Head of School could move to Burbank. Her familiarity with Providence High School was crucial during this time of transition and as always she and Sister Renate are such a joy to be around. Please join me in extending Sr. Mary all our good wishes as she celebrates her 50th jubilee as a Sister of Providence!

 

     It is my pleasure to introduce our interim head of school, Mr. Michael Collins. Mike excels in school leadership transitions, having recently held interim head of school positions for three different schools. Prior to that, he was Headmaster for a number of years at Frederica Academy in St. Simons Island, GA, Laguna Blanca School in Santa Barbara, CA, and Saint Mary’s Hall in San Antonio, TX. Aside from years of experience as a headmaster, Mike also worked as Assistant Director/Dean of Student Services, Director of Middle School/Coordinator of K-12 Student Services, Department Head for Counseling Services/College Advising, and also spent years in the classroom as a teacher.

 

      I am confident that Mr. Collins’ ample experience working in education will immensely benefit the students of Providence High School. Please join me in warmly welcoming Mr. Collins for this school year.
