Dear Members of the Providence High School Community,
I am privileged to join Providence High School as your transitional leader for the school year 2010-2011. As the interim head of school, it is my responsibility to continue the enhancement of our school’s high standards and to assist the total school community to create a clear pathway for Providence’s next long-term leader.
It is critical to uphold the strong Catholic foundation upon which Providence High School was founded over a half century ago. Our school has a history, however, of welcoming students of all faiths and, through the decades, many have thoroughly contributed to the rich mosaic of student life. This heritage is truly impressive.
When I reviewed our school’s website and while meeting with faculty and staff members, it was abundantly clear that Providence High School possesses outstanding qualities related to academic and college preparation, as well as an atmosphere of respect accorded all who enter its doors. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing guidance to our students, so they may grow intellectually, morally and spiritually, thereby preparing young men and women for a fulfilling adulthood.
Among important decisions parents make for a child is the selection of a school environment that offers encouragement, academic challenge, safety and moral grounding. I commend those who have committed to Providence High School for their children, and urge other parents who seek such an experience to visit our school and see us in action.
I look forward to meet those who are or have been affiliated with Providence High School.
Sincerely yours,
Michael E. Collins
Interim Head of School
