Dear Friends of Providence,

 

 

Although we still need to complete the second half of the 2009-2010 school year, it is not too early to begin thinking about summer. For our seniors, this may be a nerve-wracking time as they prepare to embark on their college lives, while our underclassmen may be looking for summer jobs or making plans to spend time with their families and friends.

 

This summer, PHS is proud to offer specialized summer camps in addition to remedial courses in all core subject areas. The Media Summer Program is a short, three week introduction to our Media Focus Program. Students will learn film editing, script development and project planning as well as gain an understanding of the history of silent film production.

 

The Visual & Performing Arts Summer Camp will be instructed by professional actors from Discovery OnStage, who currently facilitate Providence’s drama program. Students will study drama, stage craft, music, art and design, fencing, and script writing.

The Science Enrichment Camp is open to any student, grade 7-9, interested in exploring science and getting a feel for the various disciplines within Science, including Intro to Biology, Meteorology, Rockets and Aerospace, Intro to Physics, and Math for Science.
