Grounded in the living heritage of the Sisters of Providence, this plan articulates our unwavering commitment to excellence in learning, courage in leadership, and measurable impact in our community and beyond. Inspired by our mission and values, we strive to nurture a dynamic educational environment that forms students, faculty, and staff as critical thinkers, compassionate leaders, and agents of meaningful change.

At the heart of this plan are three simple yet powerful truths.

LEARN deeply.

Learners ask questions, wrestle with complexity, and develop their capacity to think deeply. We are curious, grounded, and engaged in the world.

Key Initatives

Leadership Institute

Thanks to a prestigious grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation and the generosity of our community, we are launching the Providence Leadership Institute this year. The Institute will connect and grow leadership initiatives for students, adults, families, and alumni, grounded in our belief that leadership is intergenerational, rooted in disposition rather than position, and begins with self-understanding and personal formation: knowing who you are, how you show up, and how you grow in discipline and awareness in order to lead others well.

Gallup CliftonStrengths (Strengthsfinder)
One of our first Leadership Institute experiences took place recently on March 10–11. Providence students and teachers partnered with CliftonStrengths facilitator, Marla Cornelius, to discover their strengths and reflect on the kind of leaders, and the kind of people, they hope to become.

AI & Human Initiative
Before the end of this school year, we will launch our AI & Humanity Initiative, the first official new initiative under the Leadership Institute. This work will help our community engage artificial intelligence in ways that strengthen what is most human: deep thinking, ethical judgment, creativity, and authentic relationships. Through inquiry groups, real-world experiments, and community gatherings, we will build shared language, clear guardrails, and practices to help us live wisely in this algorithmic age.

Community Impact Program

Education at Providence has always extended beyond the classroom, and our Community Impact Program is a transformative approach to service, asking students to engage deeply with real community needs, build authentic relationships, and act as advocates and changemakers. The program, which is an evolution from the traditional service hours model, has a thoughtfully scaffolded, four-year approach, with each grade level engaging in a yearlong theme that builds toward deeper understanding, responsibility, and action.

Day of Impact
Our Day of Impact event is where students engage in grade‑level experiences, such as working with the City of Burbank’s Parks and Rec Department to a spiritual retreat to advocating in downtown Los Angeles with elected representatives. Day of Impact is designed to engage students in grade-level experiences including reflection, service, advocacy, and collaboration.

Community, School Spirit, and Safety

Research consistently shows that the environments students experience shape how they learn, feel, and grow. A strong, connected community—where students feel known, supported, and safe—is essential to belonging and trust.

Mascot & School Spirit
We are also intentionally building school spirit, fostering shared pride and connection across campus by reimagining our Pioneer identity with a mascot that unites our community and energizes our Pioneers—reveal coming soon!

Traffic Flow & Campus Safety
Campus safety and traffic flow remain a priority. We continue to work in partnership with professional traffic consultants and the City of Burbank to develop thoughtful, sustainable traffic flow solutions, informed by ongoing community feedback.

Campus Environment Improvements
We are committed to creating environments that support learning, connection, and student well‑being. Across campus, this includes improvements to the Student Activity Center, a refreshed Chapel, enhancements to the performing arts auditorium, and continued progress on our campus master plan.
