M.A. Education (in progress), University of Phoenix
B.A. English, California State University Northridge

Ms. Marisa Paolone, or Ms. P, grew up in Burbank, California. She attended St. Robert Bellarmine Parish School for grades kindergarten through 8th. She then moved on to our very own Providence High School. All four years at Providence, Ms. P engaged in one of her lifelong passions, volleyball and played on the Varsity Volleyball team all four years.  It was also at Providence that she discovered her three other loves in life; Literature, Languages and Mathematics.  Aside from learning Italian while growing up, as a student at PHS she studied Spanish, French and German.

Ms. Paolone always knew that teaching would be her future. After graduating from Providence in 1996, she went on to earn her B.A. in English from Cal State Northridge. She then went on to attend the University of Phoenix, and is currently enrolled in the Masters in Education program. After a fantastic experience teaching Freshman, Junior and Senior English, as well as Algebra I and Pre-Calculus for three years at Sacred Heart High School, Ms. Paolone felt passionate about returning to her Alma mater, the place that made her high school experience so extraordinary and wonderful.

In 2005, she returned to teach English and Mathematics at Providence, while also becoming the Senior Class Moderator.  Ms. Paolone feels grateful every day to have a job that is truly, like home.  She knows that if she attended high school elsewhere, she would have still been a good student but it was Providence that made her high school experience nothing short of perfect.

In her spare time, she enjoys, reading, walking, traveling, History, learning languages, and playing volleyball in a semi-pro league.  She is an avid foodie and enjoys trying foods from all cultures.  She is looking forward to being a contestant on The Amazing Race, with fellow faculty member and friend, Mrs. Susan Beckenham.   She is a serious I Love Lucy fan and since junior high, her favorite music artist has been Stevie Nicks.  She loves working closely with students and parents, to discover the incredible high school experience that Providence offers.  She wants her students to not only love what she teaches, she wants them to have the same experience she had.
