Ms. Michelle Laforce is a teacher of Mission of Jesus and Mission of the Church in the Religious Studies department.  Ms. Laforce was born and raised in southern California, having received a Catholic education most of her life, graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes School, Tujunga, Bellarmine Jefferson High School, and Mount Saint Mary’s University.

Ms. Laforce is an active member of her parish community, serving on the Parish Council and Liturgy Committee.  Ms. Laforce received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a minor in Religious Studies from California State University, Northridge and her Master of Arts degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles with an emphasis on Comic Book Movies and the Millennial Generation.

Following God’s plan and beginning her vocation in education, Ms. Laforce taught Social Studies, Religion, and English at Our Lady of Peace, in North Hills for fifteen amazing years. Having the philosophy of being a life-long learner as an elementary school educator, she wore many hats, which included serving as Assistant Principal and head coach of the Academic Junior High Decathlon.

Ms. Laforce also received from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Daughters of Saint Paul an Advanced Certificate in Media Literacy, which aids in her teaching style of informing her students to be mindful of the media.

In addition to teaching sophomores the Mission of Jesus Christ and the Mission of the Church, Ms. Laforce is proud to be the Sophomore Moderator and assist Mr. Talley with Providence High School’s Academic Decathlon team.  She is happy to be at Providence and hopes to continue to be a life-long learner while being amazed by her students.
