Providence High School

Late Start Information

Have you ever wished we could start school later in the day? Maybe sleep-in an extra hour? Or get a morning work-out in? Well, wish no more. We have selected (3) dates for the school year when school will begin at 9:40 am. Yes, you read that right, 9:40 am. These "Late Start" days will provide an opportunity for our students and parents to engage in other recharging activities in the morning. Our Faculty/Staff would be meeting and collaborating during these late start days to improve teaching practices as well as interdisciplinary connections for students. Dismissal would still occur at 2:50 pm. And while students are  encouraged to stay home and rest and recharge themselves, we also understand parents work and may need to drop their student off at the regular time. Students arriving to campus early will be directed to the adult-supervised outdoor quad area and will not be permitted to leave campus. All indoor areas (Learning Commons, classrooms, hallways, etc.) during these late start days will be off limits until the warning bell.

Feedback of course is very important to us and we will be reaching out to the entire PHS community on their thoughts about these late start days. And don't forget about our carpooling program for these late start days and any other school day for that matter. Information about carpooling can be obtained by following the link below.
