Alec Kurkjian

Boys Basketball | JV & FS Assistant Coach

B.S. Kinesiology, California State University, Northridge (Expected '19)

Mr. Alec Kurkjian is a graduate of Providence High School where he played both basketball and baseball. Immediately after graduating from Providence in 2014, Kurkjian began coaching boys basketball at Blair High School in Pasadena. After a quick re-building year in which Blair went 7-19 in their first year, they compiled records of 18-8 and 25-7 in the following two seasons including a trip to the CIF Division 4-AA championship game and the CIF-State Division 4 playoffs in 2016-2017. 

After completing his three-year stint at Blair, Kurkjian returned to coach boys basketball at Providence in the summer of 2017. He will be on staff as a varsity assistant coach and will also assist the lower levels. Kurkjian is excited to be back coaching at his alma mater and is eager to help lead the boys basketball program in which he played for. 

Mr. Kurkjian is currently a student at California State University, Northridge where he is working towards obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. He is expected to graduate in the spring of 2019. In his free time, Kurkjian enjoys playing and officiating basketball, rooting for his L.A. Lakers and Dodgers and spending time with friends and family.
