Over the summer, Technology Focus Program Director Mrs. Susan Beckenham participated in a 500 mile pilgrimage called The Camino de Santiago, known in English as the “Way of Saint James.” The trip began in St. Jean Pied du Port in France and culminated in the upper part of Spain called Compostela de Santiago. Many follow its routes as a form of spiritual path or retreat for their spiritual growth.

Seattle-based Aaron Martin, Managing General Partner of Providence Ventures and Executive VP, Chief Digital Officer of Providence St. Joseph Health, visited Providence High School to speak with students enrolled in the Medical and Technology Focus Programs about digital technology trends in healthcare.

Award-winning author, Dashka Slater, visited Providence High School to engage in a discussion with students about the central themes of justice and community that are presented in her New York Times best-selling true crime narrative, The 57 Bus, which received the 2018 Stonewall Book Award.

On July 15, 2019, I traveled to Tarrytown, New York, to join nineteen other high school teachers at the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture.

"I don’t know about you, but I don’t get nearly enough time to reflect and think deeply. I often crave those opportunities and lately have been trying to intentionally carve out time to do just that."
