Baseball
The Providence Pioneers enter the 2025–26 baseball season looking to build momentum and take a step into the Liberty League. After finishing last year with flashes of promise and several strong late-season performances, Providence now turns the page with a fresh roster, a full slate of competitive matchups, and renewed optimism.

Providence’s 2026 roster features returning seniors Jason Carillo, Nick Delger, Roman Mastandrea, Luc Rode, Dylan Sarkisian, Hudson West, Arlo Wicke Asa Langlois and Kiran Kostecka. Several leaders expected to provide veteran experience for a relatively small but focused group. Having sophomore catcher Nathanial Palmer, added to the roster to contribute defensively and at the plate.

The Pioneers coaching staff remains steady under Head Coach Mando Contreras, with assistants Thomas Keller and Matthew Mullich continuing to develop the team with an emphasis on fundamentals and discipline.

With experienced seniors, emerging young talent, and a coaching staff that emphasizes continual improvement, the Providence Pioneers are positioned for a competitive season. Their schedule presents early opportunities to establish momentum and a league slate that offers a clear path to push for playoff contention if consistency develops.

If pitching depth tightens and the lineup finds timely offense, Providence could become one of the Liberty Leagues League’s top teams in 2026.

Softball
The Providence Pioneers enter the 2025–26 softball season with a young, energetic roster and a full schedule that will challenge them early and often. With a blend of promising freshmen, key returning upperclassmen, and a coaching staff focused on development, Providence looks to build momentum and make a push towards a solid post season.

Providence brings a 12‑player roster into the new season, highlighted by a strong freshman class and experienced leadership from returning juniors and seniors. Key players include:

  • Evangelina “Gigi” Aleman (Sr.) – A versatile catcher/shortstop/outfielder who brings leadership and athleticism.

  • Ariana Benito (Sr.) – A dependable first baseman and utility option providing senior stability.

  • Siena Hartman (Jr.) – A returning outfielder with speed and range.

  • Stellina Truglio (Jr.) and Madelynn Watts (So.) – Two emerging underclassmen expected to play larger roles this season.

The roster also features multiple freshmen—Talia Simpson, Brooklyn Freed, Melissa Buckwoski, Rebecca Connery, Kayla Salazar—who will contribute early and grow into expanded responsibilities. With a deep schedule, a rising young core, and veteran senior leadership, Providence enters 2026 aiming to climb league standings and develop consistency on both sides of the ball. Growth from their talented freshmen and sophomores will be critical, while senior leaders like Aleman and Benito set the tone for a competitive and resilient season.

If the team continues trending upward as they did late last year, the Pioneers could be a strong contender in the post season.

Providence is hosting the, Mayors Cup Invitational on Monday May 4, 3:30pm DeBell, (Prov. Burroughs, Burbank, and Village Christian). The Invitational is a 2-man scramble format.

Boys Volleyball
With momentum building and a core of developing talent, the Providence Pioneers enter the 2026 season aiming to climb the Liberty League standings and establish themselves as a disciplined, high‑energy squad. Under Head Coach Steve Tozlian, the team looks to build on competitive performances from last spring as they prepare for another full slate of league and non‑league matchups. Here are some notable names to watch this season:

  • Cruz Camacho (So.), Setter — A young but composed setter, Camacho will be central to the Pioneers’ offensive rhythm. His decision‑making and ball placement should dictate the pace and open up attacking options across the net.

  • Jaden Casal (So.), Outside Hitter— A strong, confident hitter with the ability to swing aggressively from both pins. Casal’s athleticism and power give Providence a reliable scoring option in high‑pressure rallies.

  • Josh Estrada (Jr.), Defensive / Serving Depth — A capable role player with a dependable serve and fast reactions, Estrada will add depth during tight rotations and special‑situation substitutions.

  • Nathan Krueger (Sr.), Opposite — With size and power on the right side, Krueger gives Providence a strong blocking presence and a secondary attacking option to balance the offense.

  • Nathan Mendez (Sr.), Middle Blocker — Athletic and quick off the ground, Mendez is expected to anchor the middle, disrupting opponents’ swings and providing fast‑tempo opportunities in transition.

With consistent serve‑receive and capitalize on their upgraded front‑court presence, they’ll be well‑positioned to compete deeper into league play and build on last season’s progress.

Providence High School heads into the 2026 beach volleyball season with a deep and competitive lineup ready to make waves on the sand. With a blend of experienced varsity indoor players and emerging beach specialists, the Pioneers are set for a strong showing as they prepare for their early-season matchups. They play the opening match against Taft on Feb. 21 at Sorrento Beach, already on the schedule, the Pioneers will get an early test of their pair chemistry and conditioning as they transition fully into beach season.

Expect Providence to rely on:

  • Depth across all pairings, allowing for strategic flexibility.

  • Experienced indoor crossover athletes, who bring court IQ and competitive maturity.

  • Strong defensive specialists, enabling long rallies and counter‑attack opportunities.

If this group continues developing its sand-specific footwork, communication, and conditioning, Providence is positioned for a competitive campaign—and potentially one of its strongest seasons since its inaugural year of 2023.
