Chilean Delegation Visits Providence High School for Weeklong Cultural Exchange

Providence High School was honored to host a delegation of students and educators from Colegio La Providencia in Chile for a rich and meaningful week of cultural, academic, and community exchange. Their visit offered opportunities for shared learning, global connection, and a deeper appreciation of the Providence mission that unites our schools across continents.

A Warm Welcome and Immersion in Campus Life
The delegation began their visit on Monday with a welcome breakfast and introductions to their Providence student shadows. Throughout the day, they attended morning classes, visited Religion courses for a special presentation, and explored iconic Los Angeles locations including Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, the Mr. Brainwash Museum, Hollywood Boulevard, and more.

Academic Engagement Across Departments
Over the course of the week, our guests participated in a wide range of classes across campus. They visited Spanish, French, English, Social Studies, Science, Math, Medical Technology, and Visual & Performing Arts courses, experiencing firsthand the breadth of Providence’s academic offerings.
A highlight of the week was the delegation’s presentation to Providence faculty and staff, where they shared insights about their school, culture, and community.

Exploring Los Angeles and Its Landmarks
Afternoons were dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical richness of Los Angeles. The delegation visited:

  • Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral
  • Walt Disney Concert Hall
  • The Americana and Glendale Galleria
  • Griffith Observatory
  • Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)
  • The Grove and Farmers Market
  • Warner Bros. Studios and Universal CityWalk

Faith, Community, and Shared Mission
The group also visited St. Francis Xavier, deepening their understanding of the shared Catholic identity that connects our schools. Later in the week, they joined Providence’s Religion team and selected students for lunch and conversation, strengthening the bonds between our communities.

Farewell and Final Reflections
On their final day, the delegation returned to campus to say goodbye to their shadows and teachers before departing for the California Science Center. The visit concluded with a heartfelt farewell dinner at Little Toni’s, where students, administrators, and shadows celebrated the friendships and memories formed throughout the week.
