Cinema Arts: All American High School Film Festival 2025

Providence High School’s Cinema Arts Program had an incredible showing at the 2025 All-American High School Film Festival in New York City. Improving on last year’s four official selections, Providence students earned eleven official selections across multiple categories… an extraordinary accomplishment on the national stage.

Twelve students traveled to New York from October 14–20, where they not only attended screenings, panels, and the Teen Indie Awards, but also produced an original short film shot entirely on location throughout the city… including Grand Central Terminal, Central Park, and Times Square.

A highlight of the festival was Senior Jack Downing being honored with the prestigious “Emerging Talent” Award for his film Hall Monitors, a project created with the help of students from every grade level in the Providence program.

This trip represented the best of Providence’s collaborative and creative spirit, giving students real-world filmmaking experience while celebrating their growth as storytellers.
