Joannes Rodriguez

Alumni and Family Relations Coordinator

M.A. Humanities, Mt. St. Mary's University
B.A. Broadcast Journalism, California State University, Northridge

Mrs. Joannes Rodriguez is a proud alumna of Providence High School. As a student, she was part of the choir, the Short Flags team, and Students Run L.A. After graduating in 2003, Mrs. Joannes Rodriguez attended Cal State University, Northridge where she attained her B.A. in Broadcast Journalism in 2007. It was through a radio piece she created during her final year of college that she earned a Golden Mic Award.

After graduating, Mrs. Joannes Rodriguez traveled to Thailand to teach children English and when she returned, she was offered a position as a News Producer for a CBS affiliate in Santa Maria. While working in the news, she also had a chance to report and edit. As much as she loved what she was doing, she longed for something more. After nearly four years in the business, she went back to school and rediscovered her passion for education and working with students. She earned her M.A. in Humanities from Mt. St. Mary’s University in 2013 and became a Humanities Adjunct Instructor at Pasadena City College.

In 2014, Mrs. Joannes Rodriguez returned to Providence with the goal of helping alumni reconnect with the school. She also works with the Senior Class on their capstone project and guides students to create a project that really matters to them. In her spare time, she enjoys eating and travelling with her husband as well as practicing yoga and writing in modern calligraphy.
