Providence High School boasts three award winning art programs on our campus—Cinema Arts, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts. Annually, artists representing all disciplines participate in local, regional, and national competitions and have collected dozens of awards.

Each year, faculty design courses and select materials that affirms our mission and reinforces the school’s values of dignity, compassion, justice, excellence and integrity. The Arts at Providence empowers students to express themselves authentically, allowing them to emerge from the program more willing participants, eager to make an impact on the world in which they live.

Cinema Arts

The Cinema Arts Program explores the influence that narrative has in media through a hands-on curriculum that aims to empower students to tell great stories that emotionally impact their audiences. Encompassing all aspects of professional filmmaking, students gain access to media careers through real-life participation in meaningful projects. By senior year, our Pioneer filmmakers are ready to apply to the most prestigious film programs around the country.

Technology

The Technology Program offers a wide variety of experiential learning in four main pathways of technology. This four-year program exposes students to various programming languages, design-thinking frameworks, project management skills, robotics, and culminates in devising marketing for their original products. Ethics and questions of social justice are critical lenses through which all the technical and interpersonal skills are taught throughout all four years.
