Foundress Week
Foundress Week is an annual PHS Tradition that celebrates the Foundress of the Sisters of Providence, and the mission and traditions that the Sisters have gifted to our school. September 23 is the annual Feast Day of Blessed Emilie Gamelin, SP, who founded the Sisters of Providence. Each year, we keep alive the founding vision and mission with a special treat for students (which recalls Blessed Emilie’s treats to neighborhood children), a school-wide prayer service, and a donation drive supporting the needs of those in need in our community. These celebrations are an opportunity for fun, teamwork, and experiencing how service to one another connects us as a community.

Pioneer Week
A true Providence tradition, Pioneer Week is a yearly event in the fall in which the Providence Houses compete against one another in a variety of athletic events. Class involvement and participation are highly encouraged and are awarded spirit points.
Pioneer Weeks kicks off with classes competing against each other in various athletic events. Pioneer Week culminates at the end of the week with Pioneer Day where Houses compete in Olympic-style events. The House with the most points at the end of the day wins the coveted Pioneer Cup.
Theme Day
Theme Day is the premier event of the year, a day of class competition-themed activities and performances.
Class themes are created and developed by students in each grade level led by the Associated Student Body (ASB) Class Officers. Theme Day often take months of careful intricate planning to prepare and just days to execute. Students work tirelessly to ensure that the performances, banners, cheers and all the details are created and finished to perfection.
The week’s events are judged by a panel of judges, comprised of faculty and staff members selected by ASB. Points are awarded to each class based on their performance and participation in the week's events. All the points accumulated by the classes go towards the Spirit Point Competition that the students have every year which results in Class Spirit Holiday in which the winning grade-level class wins a day off from school.
