Mrs. Maribel Kuklish was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She received her B.A. in Education from Andres Bello Catholic University. During her sophomore year in college she got her first job as an elementary school teacher. After a couple of years, she began teaching in junior high and then high school where she really found her passion for education. In 1998, she received her Master’s degree in Group Dynamics and Leadership at CIEDIS, and in 2002, she received her M. Ed. in Educational Technology from Simon Bolivar University.
Mrs. Kuklish taught in Caracas for 15 years at the private catholic school “Our Lady of the Valley,” where she also was the Senior Class Academic Advisor and the Dean of Studies. She came to the United States in 2003, started working at PHS in 2004 as a Spanish Language teacher, and in 2011 she became the Academic Advisor for 10th grade. In 2015 she began teaching AP Spanish, her favorite subject. Mrs. Kuklish has over 30 years of teaching experience.
In 2005 Mrs. Kuklish married her husband David and in 2009 they welcomed their son Ilan - a future Pioneer. Mrs. Kuklish enjoys volunteering as the Hospitality Chairperson at her son’s school and also ministering as a Providence Associate at the Providence St. Joseph Neonatal Intensive Care Unit next door, creating “Welcome Bags” for parents of babies in the unit. Mrs. Kuklish also enjoys Facebooking, traveling to Spain to spend time with her nieces, planning road trips and spending time with her little family.
