Mr. Joe Ngamsanga has been teaching at Providence High School for 22 years. He was a professional singer, musician, and entertainer in various restaurants before he started his teaching career here at PHS. He appeared in some commercials and music videos in the late 1980’s. Mr. Ngamsanga formed a PHS music band for the first time in 2010 at PHS called “The Pioneer Sound” that would perform concerts at various events on campus and at Providence St. Joseph Hospital. The band was also featured in a promotional music video for the school.

Mr. Ngamsanga draws anime characters in leisure time. He is a big Anime fan and draws characters from the first Macross series. He also paints water color and specializes in painting garden and botanical scenes. Musically, he plays Electone and programs synthesizer music. Other musical instruments that he plays include pluck dulcimer, hammer dulcimer, recorder, and guitar. He usually travels during the summer to explore new adventures and learn about cultures in other countries. Mr. Ngamsanga practices meditation to obtain peace and relax his mind when time allows. Mr. Ngamsanga is currently working on an ongoing project that started in 2013 looking for a perfect formula to create “Pioneer Cologne” to represent the scent of Pioneers at PHS. He has been extracting essential oils from various species of lavender, peppermint, and citrus fruits in his lab. He also formed “Redolence Club” in the same year to recruit members in an attempt to perfect the formula.
