Mr. David Rufus has been teaching at Providence High School since 2005. Prior to that, he taught in two other schools in the area. Before moving to the United States he taught in two other countries. Mr. Rufus is passionate about teaching students to think. Over the years he has taught Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Algebra I and Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus and Financial Algebra. Mr. Rufus loves to use an inter-disciplinary approach in his classes. Students comment that his classes are like STEM classes while he believes it is more “root”- foundational. He is a firm believer that his role is to build concepts and lay a strong foundation.
 
Mr. Rufus has played soccer, basketball, field hockey, cricket and table tennis at the college level. He closely follows tournaments both local and global.

Mr. Rufus is an avid reader and enjoys visits to libraries. His favorite movies are Lion King and Finding Nemo.

He is happily married and lives with his wife and two daughters. As a family they love travelling and enjoy new places.
