Director of Mission Integration and Adult Formation
A proud alum of Providence High School, Mrs. Judy Egan Umeck returned to her alma mater in 1996 as the Admissions Assistant. A year later, she became the Director of Admissions and has spent 22 years in that position. She always says that she feels like she has come home!!
After studying Journalism and Child Development at Cal State Northridge, she married her high school sweetheart, Mr. Bruce Umeck. Blessed with 38 years of marriage, they have raised three children and are the grandparents of six grandchildren.
As the Director of Admissions, Mrs. Umeck has developed relationships with over 70 elementary and junior high schools in the area. Her greatest pleasure is meeting new students and parents....and remembering their names!!
Serving as an elected member of the Saugus Union School District Board of Education in Santa Clarita has given Mrs. Umeck the opportunity to perfect her skills in the area of elementary school assessments and raising student achievement. Mrs. Umeck earned her Masters in Governance through the California School Board Association and serves as the Liasion to the Special Education Local Planning Agency. She brings these perspectives to Providence as a part of the "big" picture in the transition of students from elementary school to high school.
Committed to the mission and vision of the Sisters of Providence, she is the regional coordinator for the Providence Associates, the lay arm of the order, for the San Fernando Valley.
"Humility, simplicity, charity, above all charity."
Blessed Emilie Gamelin, Foundress of the Sisters of Providence
