Performing Arts Faculty

B.F.A. Drama, NYU Tisch School of the Arts
Originally from Long Island, New York, Ms. Kusmierczyk pursued her passion of performance to NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she earned her B.F.A. in Drama, studying primarily at the Atlantic Acting School. While at this studio, she was introduced to Eginton Alignment, a movement-based therapy and movement-for-actors-based technique focused on eliminating habitual tension to free the body for greater mobility and emotional availability.
After graduation, Ms. Kusmierczyk continued her acting studies with the Atlantic Acting School all the way to Los Angeles, and, became the first certified Eginton Alignment teacher, later opening her own practice called Move Smart Alignment. It is this combination of acting, movement, and her strong dance background which makes Ms. Kusmierczyk such a joyful and energetic teacher.
Aside from teaching Dance, Movement, Voice & Diction and Acting for Discovery Onstage for the past eight years, she has also taught Movement for Actors in the Atlantic Acting School's New York Summer Conservatory, LA Conservatory and their yearly Vermont Summer Intensive in conjunction with NYU. In addition, she has taught in Atlantic's Kids Programs, New York and Los Angeles. Ms. Kusmierczyk taught Dance, Musical Theatre, and Acting in the Burbank Unified School District and other schools throughout Los Angeles through the S.O.D.E. School of Performing Arts. She began at Providence High School choreographing for the school's award-winning choirs under the direction of Mrs. Bradfield and fantastic spring musical productions under the direction of Mr. Catrambone and DiscoveryOnstage.

Ms. Kusmierczyk has also assistant directed two productions with Los Angeles' Center Theatre Group, choreographed the original musical London Calling for the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2017, appeared in national commercials, and performed on KTLA: Good Day and The Late Late Show with James Corden, as well as numerous stage productions.

When she's not hustling, Ms. Kusmierczyk enjoys hiking, running, the beach, and reading, as well as going to the movies. In a dream world, she'd be traveling right now, however, she is beyond thrilled to be a member of the Providence faculty.
