James Nguyen

Mr. Nguyen was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He grew up attending public school and participated in various sports and extracurricular activities such as basketball, track & field, marching and symphonic band, and key club. Mr. Nguyen completed his undergraduate degree at Seton Hall University in Orange, NJ, where he majored in Catholic Theology. He then pursued graduate studies and completed his Master of Arts in Educational Technology at Concordia University Irvine.

Formed by the Salesian charism of St. John Bosco, Mr. Nguyen is passionate about educating young people to be good Christians and honest citizens. Mr. Nguyen moved to southern California in 2017, where he began and discovered his love for teaching. He firmly believes that connecting young people with their faith through culture, movies, and the media are effective ways to help them discover God in all things. Mr. Nguyen is also wholeheartedly convinced that in every young person, a point of goodness is accessible and it is the primary duty of the educator to discover that sensitive cord of the heart so as to draw out the best in the young person.

Some fun facts about Mr. Nguyen are that he loves the outdoors and has traveled to more than 20 states, watches and plays sports, loves basketball, sings and plays the guitar, enjoys cooking, and enjoys visiting Disneyland and Universal Studios. He is a die-heart Seattle Seahawks fan, and his favorite dessert is crème brûlée and panna cotta.
