Mr. Ben Van Dyk grew up in Michigan, moving to Southern California when he was 12, where in high school he discovered his dream of wanting to be an educator. He’s been pursuing his passion in teaching since 2006, first at a middle school in Philadelphia, then as a Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair at Servite High School before joining the Providence community.

In 2019, OC Parenting Magazine awarded Ben the distinction of Top History Teacher in Orange County. In addition to teaching, Ben has been an AP Reader, scoring AP exams for U.S. History, and a contributing author in A Day in the Life of an American Worker: 200 Trades and Professions Through History.

Ben would not be able to be a teacher without the patient and unconditional support of his wife, Harmony, and two sons, Aiden and Killian. Together, they enjoy visiting Disneyland, gardening, watching movies, and eating.
