Ms. Giavonna Futia was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, and serves as an academic counselor for students in grades 9, 10, & 11 and our College Counselor assisting the Dir. of College Counseling.
She attended Catholic schools for her K-12 education and is a proud advocate of the benefits of religious education. Ms. Futia earned a bachelor's degree in Gender Studies and Education from UCLA. During her time at UCLA, she began working as a teaching assistant at a Catholic school in Westwood. It was there that she developed a passion for working with students to enhance their academic experience and future. Ms. Futia continued her education at LMU where she earned a master's in counseling
Ms. Futia enjoys supporting students and their families through the college application process and is committed to being a pillar of support during what can be a stressful time. Ms. Futia is a member of many professional organizations including the National Association of College Admission Counseling, the American Counseling Association, and the Western Association of College Admission Counseling.
In her free time, Ms. Futia loves to spend time with her family and her french bulldog, Luna. She enjoys all things Disney and can often be found at Disneyland on the weekends. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and cooking.
