Mr. Levan joined the Providence family in 2021. He was born in Buffalo NY (Go Bills!) and moved to southern California in 2001. He was educated at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, NY where he received his Masters of Divinity degree. Following that he attended the Catholic University of America where he received his licentiate in Canon Law. His first teaching assignment was at Santa Clara High School in Oxnard, where he was also the Director Campus Ministry and Director of Christian Service.

In 2002 he moved closer to Los Angeles and joined the faculty of Bishop Alemany in Mission Hills. There he acted in the positions of Religion teacher, Religion Department Chair, Director of Campus Ministry, and Director of Christian Service (not all at the same time). He has served on several archdiocesan educational committees and has received a life certificate for Religious Education from the Los Angeles Archdiocese Department of Catholic Schools.

Mr. Levan enjoys the outdoors and anything to do with life sciences. He is active in the pursuit of social justice through groups like Pax Christi US and other local social agencies. Mr. Levan has traveled to Haiti leading five mission trips to teach English language skills to elementary grade school children. He enjoys reading about the development of societies and their relationship to the field of world religions. Mr. Levan maintains a strong relationship with his family back in Buffalo, as he enjoys spending time with his dog park friends and colleagues here in southern California.
