Providence High School has determined that in keeping with the best interest of our students and our faculty and staff, summer courses for our current students will be offered in a combination of synchronous and asynchronous online learning. These courses are open for registration and will be run based on enrollment. Courses will begin June 22 and end July 17, unless otherwise stated in the course description.  All courses are fully refundable prior to the first day of instruction.

Introductory courses and Focus Program Camps for our incoming freshman will be offered at a later date, to give us the opportunity to have these courses onsite and in person. Providence will make final determination regarding the dates and our method of instruction for these courses by June 5, 2020.

Our traditional on campus STEM program will not be available. However, we are in the process of developing an interactive online program to offer in its place dealing with Pathogens and Pandemics. More information is provided below.

Summer Athletics programs are on hold until decisions are made by CIF in regard to competition between schools.

As always, please contact us with any questions you may have.

Summer Science Enrichment | Pathogens, Virology, and Pandemics

This year we are doing things a little different! Providence High School will be offering a two-week online science enrichment course aimed at introducing rising 6th to 9th grade students to the world of viruses. The theme for this year’s science enrichment course is going to be Pathogens. Pathogens are anything that makes us sick. We are currently living in a historic moment, the Covid-19 pandemic. It is important to respond to this pandemic with education and not fear. As the only high school governed by a healthcare system, Providence High School is in an ideal position to educate people on current events. For over 20 years, Providence High School’s medical focus program has been committed to the education and health of its students.

The course will be run with a whole new innovative approach. The class will meet Monday through Friday from 9am-11am for synchronous live discussion and lessons with science department chair David Bird. There will be a lunch break from 11am-12pm.
