Film Camp

Tom is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of The All American High School Film Festival, the largest student film festival in the world.  Tom has worked with young creatives for 25+ years, discovering, developing and connecting a vast network of talented young content creators and building a community of shared passions and lifelong relationships.

Tom travels the world presenting the AAHSFF Roadshow, writes and produces curriculum for the Video Production Resource Community (for educators) hosts and produces the podcast The Future of Film and works with a wide variety of brand partners, colleges and universities to develop unique and enriching opportunities for all emerging content creators. 

Tom has produced films for AT&T, IMAX, Sony, Warner Music Group and Atlantic Records, Blackmagic Design, Jostens, Refinery 29, Storyblocks, the Ad Council, and more.

With twenty-five of Entertainment Industry experience, Russell has held a wide variety of titles throughout his career. He has created many projects from scratch and seen them through from pre-production to delivery. Along with writing and directing, he has also become a skilled editor and After Effects artist. The latter of which has lead to animated projects that have been seen on HBO, FOX, MTV, and VH-1 to name a few. If there’s an additional skill to acquire, or a new program to learn, he’s always eager to broaden his capabilities.

His success as a hidden-camera producer has lead to numerous opportunities over the years. Most recently he was the Showrunner and Executive Producer of "The Carbonaro Effect" on TruTV for five seasons. Over that time, he delivered 100+ episodes of the original series, plus dozens more of two companion series "Inside Carbonaro", and "Double Takes", the latter of which featured alternative takes of unaired segments.

But like many producers his career began, and has been sustained by, writing. Whether it’s a comedy, drama, animation, or unscripted show, nothing can be produced until a concept has been laid out on paper.
